Functions
- Management of the full range processes which ensure that the Ministry and its parastatal, ZTA , are kept compliant with the Tourism and regulations;
- Oversee the preparation of cabinet memos and other documents in consultation with other departments in the Ministry;
- Co-ordinate the development and review of the Ministry Strategic Plan;
- Formulate a departmental budget, supervise and manage staff in the Directorate;
- The department also plays Parliamentary liaison role on the behalf of the Ministry;
- Provide prompt and accurate Legal Advice
- Attend to Legal proceedings
- Draft Legal Documents
- Align the Tourism Act with the Constitution
- Liaise with the Office of the Attorney General on all legal issues.
- Co-ordinate the amendment or formulation of legislation relevant to the sector.
- Develop the Human Resources and Public Affairs policies and procedures.
- Liaise with the office of the Attorney General pertaining to all legislative issues
- Co-ordinate the development and review of the Ministry Strategic Plan
